A little about me

Being raised on a ranch in North Florida; my love for horses started at a very early age... my Mom has said that much to her dismay, "horse" was my first word! Ever since those first innocent months, I have been around horses - owned them, ridden them, competed them, loved them - and over time I've been blessed with the gift of understanding them. Creatures of extreme beauty, power, grace, gentleness, quickness, and sometimes frailty. This passion and love for horses has carried over to my second passion - photography.

Through the years, I have relentlessly worked on perfecting my images. I know exactly how I want them to look and in my mind nothing short of that is satisfactory. Horses in competition, at work, in portraiture, I love it all!

Horses in motion

Capturing the power and grace of horses in motion has its challenges. A challenge I embrace. My equine sport photography has been nationally published in equestrian magazines and on a variety of websites. I've had the privilege and pleasure of photographing the World Equestrian Games, World Dressage Masters, Festival of Champions, Dressage at Devon, Rolex Kentucky 3 Day Event, and many Regional Horseshows and Farms.

Dedicated to creating Fine Art Portraiture

With my horse portraits, I strive to capture their individual and endearing qualities as well as that unique relationship each horse has with their human partner. Every client’s horse is special to me and each session is tailored to emphasize your horse’s personality and beauty.

Now is the best time

Don’t put off booking a portrait session any longer! Life is fleeting and unpredictable; it does not always go as planned. Cell phone photos are okay but no substitute for a professional photographer who knows exactly how to take the best angles and has the right equipment and skills to make you and your horse look the very best. Now really is the best time to create a timeless piece of art that will honor your equine partner

This is how it works

Here is what you can expect from your portrait session. While booking a date, we can discuss your goals and any specific ideas you have in mind and then we will go over a plan based on my experiences, your location, and your horse. The session is tailored to each horse, and will include multiple poses, head shots to full body (if desired). There are many options:

  • We can shoot strictly outside with natural light
  • We can do black backgrounds (some physical location requirements) or canvas backdrop, with natural light or with studio lighting
  • We can have a combination of the above

You will receive a prep sheet of things to help you prepare for your session.

Plan on your portrait session taking 45-60 minutes.

After the photo shoot, I will choose the best images and meticulously edit each. This is when my style of “magic” happens.

A private proof gallery will be provided, through my website, and you will have a personal link to your gallery which can be shared with family and friends if desired. You will choose one image for printing and five for low resolution digital download from this gallery. The low resolution files are perfect for social media and can be used as you wish, but they are not suitable for print.

I will handle the printing for you and have your beautiful work of art delivered to your door.

Three elegant printing options:

Stretched Wrapped Canvas - the ultimate in convenience with a lovely, finished look. Canvas Prints are a well-known, high-end way of displaying photographs. The canvas is stretched and wrapped around .75 inch or 1.5 inch thick wooden stretcher-bars (depending on size of print) that give it shape, in the same way an oil painting is traditionally assembled. There are no staples or ugly lines visible on the sides.

Fine Art Print – high quality fine art rag paper and archival inks. I use “Breathing Color Elegance Velvet” which is 310 GSM (grams per square meter weight), contains no OBAS (artificial brighteners which can yellow over time with direct light exposure), and is acid free. This has a medium rag texture and enhances deep rich color. They are designed to be placed in a frame (not included) and most frequently without glass. The larger sizes 24” x 30” and 30” x 40” come mounted on a styrene board to give additional support in the frame.

Acrylic Prints - stunning home decor. Light refracts through the museum-quality acrylic bringing vibrancy and depth to your image. The 3/16" thick clear acrylic produces superb image quality and gorgeous, brilliant color! UV resistant ink prevents fading. There are no metal posts, but a clean edge-to-edge surface with a hanging wire or bracket on the back. It is ready to hang on your wall, right out of the box.
